Future of Chirp

Hey all!

I'm currently evaluating Chirp's future after having an amazing few years of sales and support from Perchers. I want to make sure I switch to a model whereby existing licenses aren't effected, and that hopefully Chirp remains stable, and updated with major software updates (both Perch and PHP etc).

I propose the following:

• Chirp becomes open source, with contributions welcome from the community.
• It has a supporters model where you can contribute to development, either via a one-off payment or subscription (totally optional!)
• I as a developer will reinvest any money raised from supporters to introduce requested features, whilst hoping a combination of contributors and sponsors can make sure Chirp thrives going forward.

I've floated this idea into Perchology, and it's been met with great feedback. I'd love to get some feedback from the wider community.

If I remember correctly, you had some sort of roadmap on Trello. Perhaps it would be useful to add these as issues on GitHub?
