Non text showing up in Perch Search Results

I am finding that some regions that I am using to set classes are showing in Perch search results.

How can I stop this? I've tried adding no-index to the template. I can't uncheck 'Show in search results' in Region Options because the actual content of that region would not show.

My markup is below. Any ideas?

It's ok not to have the closing tag / in HTML5 with Perch 3.2

I found the solution was to include the tag: searchable="false"
