Yes I've set that as well. So I had honeypot and askimet but just ended up getting a lot of spam. I'll try mbk-forms. Thanks for your input Clive.

I can see that some people are feeling that they need to hire third party developers or work on Perch apps themselves to make them compatible with PHP 8. To my mind, this is not optimum and is a consequence of very little communication by the Perch core…

Can anyone suggest a way I can make changes using SQL queries in the DB and these changes be reflected in Regions? Thanks.

Aksimet is one of the best in my experience. There is already a an API Key setting for this in Perch control panel.

Thanks Clive that's really helpful to know. Are there any other anti-spam solutions you would use or is this is the best available for Perch?

I had used the built in honeypot solution previously but found too much spam was getting through.

I've used it and it works very well. You may get an occasional false positive but no anti-spam solution will be 100%. Form response are stored in Perch admin so I would always check those regularly.

    Hi guys

I was wondeirng if anyone could advise as to whether the mbk forms recaptcha addon for perch forms works as it should? Is it a good plugin or has anyone had any issues with it for example form enquiries being marked as spam when they shouldn't…

Very strange that they are blocking outgoing SMTP, never heard of a hosting company doing that before.

The perch mailer class uses PHPMailer under the hood so you can rely on that to deliver emails, but without SMTP it can be 50/50 whether the email…

    Hi there,

have an old client who went and changed exchange hosts after around 5 years and the new host seems to be saying we can’t use smtp with their service. Just get straight up authentication errors.
They said we should use php mailer but I’m…

Perch 2 was a paid upgrade from Perch 1. There was an upgrade deal originally but that's no longer available.

Yes, Perch license is £50 + VAT.

    Hi Clive,

Thanks very much for the advice, that's really helpful.

Because we haven't used perch for so long, shouldn't the original license paid for v1 cover the upgrade too or is that not the case?

It looks like the new license is £50, am I looking…

I'm currently in the process of getting php8 versions. I can't remember of the top of my head which ones aren't. A while ago I tested a few sites my upping the php in MAMP and it threw up deprecation warnings. The apps haven't been updated for quite a…

Did you go ahead with this? Which apps aren't PHP8 compatible at the moment?, do you know? We do have until November 2022 until PHP 7.4 becomes unsupported. I've recently developed a Perch site which uses Shop, Blog, Members, Forms…
