perch:help in blog template

Hi

I'm building a primary school website with Perch (not runway). The bulk of users will be teachers adding blogs. So I would like to add in a perch:help at the top of the post page, so that the teachers know what the various block items do and how to upload the best photos etc... This works brilliantly for the page templates, but for some reason I am unable to get it to work in the blog post template.

Is there a reason for this?

Is it called something else in the blog?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been using the help attribute but I like the notes-before solution better which is new to me.
