Thank you ryan for open-sourcing Chirp and making it available for the community.
If I remember correctly, you had some sort of roadmap on Trello. Perhaps it would be useful to add these as issues on GitHub?
Good suggestion this! I'm on the case.

Chirp is now open source! A huge thanks to everyone who's supported Chirp's development along the way. We're looking for contributors!

If you're using Chirp, please star the repo to help other Perch members find it
Huge thanks to drewm and rachelandrew for creating an amazing product with a loyal fanbase!
I'm really intrigued to see what Perch has in-store for us for v4, and can't wait to get some info on release dates/previews. As a registered dev, I'd be more than happy to put my name in the hat to beta test!
Hey all!
I'm currently evaluating Chirp's future after having an amazing few years of sales and support from Perchers. I want to make sure I switch to a model whereby existing licenses aren't effected, and that hopefully Chirp remains stable, and updated with major software updates (both Perch and PHP etc).
I propose the following:
I've floated this idea into Perchology, and it's been met with great feedback. I'd love to get some feedback from the wider community.
drewm It's the not knowing that's more frustrating than anything else!
Could you at least give us an update? If the answer is no, that's fine. At least I can relay this to my clients, and we can come up with a solution.
+1 on this...
+1 on this, I have Perch Shop running on Chirp, be great to see at least the add-on being OS so I can see if we can migrate to the new Stripe Checkout? Happy to donate some time on it.
I don't think I could name just one! Here's a few from over the years:
Hey,
When importing via the API when not logged in (using a custom app for example), the import throws up:
`Notice: Undefined index: userID in /core/lib/PerchBase.class.php on line 125`
I think in theory it could work on v2, but I haven't got a v2 project to hand to test it, or make any required adjustments. If you've got a dev environment, feel free to try it and post your findings!
The only ones I've not been able to address are the weird PhotoShop EXIF issue (need to source some images to reproduce) and the CSP issue, which I'm not sure is a simple fix.
I've just popped you an email Drew with an image that should help reproduce the issue - hopefully it helps
I'm also seeing issues with S3 uploads on later versions of PHP. One issue being:
`Warning /admin/core/runway/apps/perch_s3/lib/guzzlehttp/guzzle/src/Handler/CurlFactory.php67` and `
: count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable in`
And another, I think is linked to the S3 library and it's handling of Assets:
https://github.com/aws/aws-sdk-php/issues/1923
I've always been really confident in updating to later versions of PHP with Perch, one of it's major selling points is that it just well, works. Hoping we can see some updates really soon to address these issues and keep Perch stable.
Yep I’d love an update. I’ve got issues with S3 integration with later versions of PHP, and is increasingly becoming more of an issue as I don’t have anything to go back to the client with.
Glad to hear it - well done!
drewm - I understand with your recent new roles, time is a valuable commodity. I'd be more than willing to help on a volunteer basis (no strings attached) to do some PR's to fix bugs anything else you'd need help with.
Me too.
That'd be a really useful addition. Same with collection items too!
Not sure on Redactor, but sometimes the `html` attribute works for me!
I must admit, it's impossible for us developers quoting for projects to consider Perch in upcoming projects with this unknown timetable and uncertainty. As much as I've loved Perch (& Runway) with nearly 70 licenses and becoming a registered developer a few years ago, I'm around 6 weeks away from moving to another provider for new projects.
It's not a decision I've taken lightly, but the choice of product is so critical to the quality of product I deliver. With the recent silence, delays, lack of support and updates, it's one I've had to take. I am the biggest Perch fan going, and will never rule out a return, but in it's current state it just doesn't match my very minimum requirements for a product that I rely upon daily.
