Forcing SSL not working

Hi,

I am trying to add SSL to an old Perch site http://www.umaproject.com/

I add this code but no response

PHP

<?php PerchSystem::force_ssl(); ?>

I am also trying to login but my host update to PHP 7 and I am not able to do it. — It's an old site and I have no intention to keep working on it, I only need SSL

Hi

You don't need to use that setting anymore. You'd need to force SSL outside Perch using htaccess or nginx.

You will need to upgrade to the latest version of Perch (2.8.34) if you need PHP 7 -> https://grabaperch.com/blog/ar…-perch-installs-and-php-7

I use the same method as Mxkert - Is RewriteEngine On added at the start?

Also, have you checked that the SSL is working by visiting the domain with https:// at the start?

SSL is working so you just need to get the htaccess right. It's hard to tell what will work as you haven't shared any code with us so something further down the rules might override these examples.

It can be different for different hosts so you need to experiment. I have several for differing hosts. Some hosts also won't update htaccess unless you unlock the file in the control panel. Others have a time delay.
