Asset App - Search Feature Not Working After MySQL update

Suddenly the search in the Assets app is showing nothing. Recently our server was updated from mySQL 5.5, to 5.6, then a couple days later they realized it should 5.7 ....could that have messed with the Assets app image search?

This is on Perch Runway 2.8.29 (we plan to upgrade soon, but didn't expect to search to break)

MySQL 5.7 is a lot more strict than previous versions. I haven't encountered the exact error you are facing, but have had similar issues of SQL queries not working correctly after upgrading to 5.7. If you google "disabling strict mode MySQL 5.7" you should be able to find some answers that are relevant to your hosting setup.

Resolved! That indeed do the trick. Turning off the default (after upgrading from 5.6 to 5.7) "strict mode". Instantly the search began working again. Thanks Bryon!
